Coalition Guidelines & Participation Terms

The Minnesota Family Rights Coalition is a voluntary, member-driven effort built on collaboration, professionalism, and a shared commitment to meaningful reform.

The following guidelines outline expectations for participation and help ensure the integrity, credibility, and effectiveness of the coalition.

1. Nature of the Coalition

The Minnesota Family Rights Coalition operates as a voluntary coalition and is not a formal legal entity. Participation does not create a formal membership, employment, partnership, or agency relationship.

2. Voluntary Participation

Participation in the coalition is voluntary and at-will. Individuals may choose to participate at any level and may discontinue their involvement at any time.

3. No Financial Activity

The coalition does not collect, manage, or distribute funds. Participants may not solicit, receive, or direct financial contributions on behalf of the coalition.

4. Representation and Authority

Participation in the coalition does not grant authority to represent the coalition, speak on its behalf, or present personal views as official positions without explicit authorization.

5. Independent Voice

Participants remain free to express their personal views. However, those views should not be presented as official coalition positions unless authorized.

6. Professional Conduct

Participants are expected to engage in a professional and respectful manner consistent with the coalition’s mission.

This includes refraining from disparaging, inflammatory, or misleading statements that could reasonably be attributed to or reflect upon the coalition.

7. Accountability and Participation Standards

The coalition reserves the right to limit or remove participation if actions are inconsistent with its mission, guidelines, or professional standards.

8. Privacy and Public Participation

Participation in the coalition does not require public identification. Individuals may choose their level of visibility, including whether they wish to be publicly associated with coalition efforts.

9. Commitment to Independence

The coalition operates independently and does not engage in funding or organizational structures that may introduce competing priorities.

Its work is guided by the collective input of its participants and a commitment to advancing reform in the best interests of Minnesota families and children.

10. Acknowledgment

By participating in the Minnesota Family Rights Coalition, individuals acknowledge and agree to these guidelines.

These guidelines exist to ensure that the coalition remains credible, effective, and focused on its mission—advancing meaningful reform that improves outcomes for children and families across Minnesota.
